FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

1. How many people can be seated in the church?
Our fire code limits us to a maximum of 120 people, including the bridal party.

2. What is the cost of rental?
The cost is $1,000 plus a refundable $250 cleaning/damage deposit. This includes a ceremony on your special day plus the evening before for a rehearsal. Sorry there are no discounts. All proceeds go to the preservation of Historic Mooresville. Please see the contract for details.

3. What type of music is allowed?
We highly encourage the use of acoustic music which is both in keeping with our historic community and respectful to the residents who live here.

4. Can I just rent the outside of the church or use the green space behind the church?
The lawn beside the church may be used to gather before or after your ceremony but cannot be rented separately. The green space behind the church is privately owned and is not available to rent.

5. Is there electricity?
Yes, the church has an updated electrical system and a beautiful antique chandelier to light the space.

6. What do I do about the lack of heat, A/C or bathrooms?
Space heaters are permitted for when it’s cold. There are four ceiling fans plus two windows and two doors that can be opened for ventilation when it’s hot. Also, we highly recommend that you rent a portable restroom for your ceremony.

7. Where do I park?
If you are coming to view the church you may park out front but please keep your tires on the pavement. During weddings the town is closed to parking. All cars must park on Old Hwy 20 one block from the church. Please see the contract for details.

8. Does my photographer need to buy a photography permit for my wedding?
No. Permits are required for all professional photographers who utilize the Mooresville public buildings. However, if you have rented the church for a wedding this requirement is waived for your photographer.

9. Can I come see the church before I rent it?
We would be happy to give you a tour. Please call the Church Coordinator to schedule an appointment.

10. How do I get to the Brick Church?
Historic Mooresville is located one-quarter mile south of Exit 2 (Mooresville Road) on I-565. The Brick Church is located at 25035 Lauderdale Street, which is on the corner of Lauderdale and Broad Street, in the heart of Mooresville.

11. How do I rent the church?
To book the church you must complete the online Contact Information form below, plus read and sign a Rental Agreement and pay a non-refundable deposit of $500 made out to Town of Mooresville. We highly recommend a tour and contract preview before booking.
